Last week, March 6, 2013 my friends and i went to El Nido via Zest Air (going to Puerto Princesa) on a 7PM flight thats supposedly 6:50 PM. Delayed! As expected. A few minutes before 7PM the airline announced that our flight is again delayed and now moved to 8PM due to turn around stuff. We are booked to the last trip to El Nido via RoRo Bus that night. We cant afford to miss that last trip coz if we do it will cost us extra money and will ruin our itirenary.
Chain reaction!

Around 7:45 the plane arrived (the only plane from Zest Air that flies to Puerto Princesa that day - we assumed since the first flight was delayed until the last flight for that day - domino effect!
8PM, finally they've decided to open the gate for boarding. Expecting that they will let us in, they've made us wait for not less that 15mins STANDING.
At around 8:15PM, finally we've boarded. Hoping it will fly once all passengers are in, but we've waited until 9PM before the plane flies - i guess the tower is still clearing the runway and it took them more than 30 mins to do that.
9PM, there's no way we will catch the last trip of bus going to El Nido since travel time is about an hour.
We've landed at 10PM and the terminal is 10-15mins away from Puerto Princesa International Airport.
Good thing there are still those vans for hire outside the airport which cost three times more than a bus fare. No choice but to hire one. We were able to haggle though but still cost us extra.
Then i saw this signage at the Puerto Princesa International Airport before our flight back to MNL.
I just hope airlines will do something about it, at least to compensate delayed flights.
As the old saying goes "TIME IS GOLD" and the only thing in this world that cannot be compensate is TIME.
but we still enjoyed our trip to el nido and puerto princesa....
unfortunate events wont hinder us to have a good time...
