Cagbalete Island

Another Island to discover (and CJ advance Bday Celebration)...

Cagbalete Island, located in the province of Mauban Quezon, about 5-6hrs from Manila is one of the hidden treasure of Quezon Province.

An island facing the Pacific and about 20-30 minutes away from the town proper of Mauban, Quezon.

I've been hearing about this Island for more than 3 years already, and finally i got the chance to experience the beauty of this island.

Cagbalete Island is not your typical beach like Puerto Galera or Boracay. There's no establishments though currently, there are 3 resorts in the island (Pansacola, Villa Cleofas and MVT Sto Nino) but you can't see resto's or shops.

From Gil Puyat, My friends and I took a bus (JAC Liner) going to Lucena. We left Gil Puyat at 4AM. Around 7AM when we arrived at Lucena Grand Terminal.

From Grand Terminal, we took a bus going to Mauban. It's a 1-2 hr drive to the Palengke of Mauban.

There's no market in the island so buy your foods (seafoods/meat) at the wet market. We bought ICE and water at the market because we we're advised by the care taker of the resort that there's no ice in the island.

by the way, there's no electricity , only generator that runs only at night.

Pansacola Resort : 6PM-10PM (but if there's a big group of people, generator will run from 6PM-6AM)
Villa Cleofas : 6PM-6AM (i'm not sure though but i think they have the same setup with Pansacola)
MVT Sto Nino (where we stayed) : Fan Room 6PM-9PM; Aircon (6PM-6AM) but if there are other guest generator will run from 6PM-6AM (if you get the Fan Room)

There are tindahan in the island where they sell Ice, softdrink, canned goods, noodles, eggs, liquor, beers etc.. and you can ask kids to buy you something just give them extra money.

at the resort we stayed in (MVT Sto Nino) there's 2 mini store nearby. (best choice! but they dont sell ice)

There are only scheduled trips from Mauban to Cagbalete.:
10AM and 4PM
and From Cagabalete to Mauban:
7AM and 1PM

so if you dont want to miss the boat, be there as early as possible.
