The Bicol Adventure: at Naga and Legazpi Albay – DAY 2 (May 22)

Day 2

It was around 12 am when we get to Legazpi. The plan was to checked in to Sampaguita Inn but it was already fully booked so we have no choice but to look for other hotel/inn. We hire a tricycle to find a place where we can stay in. at 12:45 AM after checking 7 inns we finally see one. It’s in -----, a pension house. By the way they served a very yummy pizza. It’s Mexita Pizza. It was really good. Saturday night is not an ordinary night for us. While waiting for our order for our so so late dinner, Uze suddenly said that she felt like there’s someone’s missing. I was actually feeling the same way and Oca and Billy as well. Though we are aware that we’re just 5 (plus Andi), we four have this feeling that we are 6 in the group and not 5. It was an eerie moment at the room. At 1 AM creepiness starts. I decided to call Rap Rap (a friend of mine who can hear unusual things on your background).  I didn’t care if he was sleeping already (Hahaha ). So I wake him up and ask him if he can hear something or can feel a presence of another being on the background. I was telling him:
Me: “Rap, kasi feeling kasi namin may kulang samin. Although aware kami na lima lang kami but still feeling naming, anim kami.”
Rap: “or may nadagdag sa nyu.. Wag mo na lang pansinin yan, aalis din yan, hindi ka makakatulog nyan sige ka.”
Although we are aware that there were only 5 in the group but it feels like as if there’s 6. I told Rap that we feel like someone is missing, but he says that “or someone was added”. So there’s really a ghost at that time in the room. We thought that the ghost might come from Calaguas, since Oca, Billy and Andi went to the cemetery.  Billy and Oca saw an image from the left side of the bed (the bed where me and Uze was lying). I was the last one to sleep. It was around 7AM when we woke up. Billy said that he was having a nightmare that night (he ask me to wake him up if I heard him moan, it means that he is having a night mare, though I heard him moan but that time I thought he was just snoring). Billy was saying that he saw the ghost in his dream, it was a guy, and the ghost was just making fun of us and laughing the whole time. Silly ghost, I had a hard time sleeping because of you. Anyways, it was a fun experience for us. Who would have thought that we will encounter a ghost in Legazpi. Let see if we will experience it also in Cebu and in Baguio this year.

I took a quick bath before leaving the place. It was really quick; they were asking me if I’m scared that’s why it was fast. I told them YES! Haha. I can’t even look in the mirror when I was washing my face.
So that’s started our Day 2 adventure in Bicol. Our first stop is Ligñon Hill, a perfect place for viewing the Mt. Mayon and the business area of Legazpi City. They offer a tour in the Japanese Cave, they also have ATV, and Zip Lines. It was a very tiring journey to top of Ligñon Hill but it was all worth it if only the clouds are not hiding the pick of Mt. Mayon. After Ligñon Hill, we went to Cagsawa Ruins. A little trivia, Cagsawa came from two words “Kag” which means “who owns” and “sawa” a “python” suggesting literally “one who collects snakes” or “a snake charmer” (thanks wiki for the trivia). The Cagsawa Church was ruined on the February 1, 1814 eruption of Mt. Mayon. The church was buried by the volcanic deposits and left only the tower bell seen.
You can also have a great view of Mt. Mayon at Cagsawa Ruins plus it’s a one stop shop where you can buy souvenir items like bags, shirts, necklaces and foods, delicacies etc.

After shopping at the Cagsawa Ruins we headed to Sibid Sibid Restaurant to have our very late lunch. They were serving seafoods.  We had Tinutungan (chicken in coconut milk – not a seafood), Pinangat (Taco leaves in Coconut Milk), Tuna Bicol Express, Sambal (Prawns), Grilled Tuna Panga, and believe it or not “Sinigang na Pusit” (Uze been wanting to eat this although we’re not sure if a restaurant served this but luckily one resto did) and we had their homemade ice cream with mangos and cheese. It was a fulfilling lunch. Though it’s late but it was very satisfying. Plus it’s cheap; it’s only P1400 for the 5 of us.
After our lunch we went to the city terminal of Leagazpi to bid our last goodbye to this beautiful place of Bicol. It was past 5 PM on May 22, when the bus left the terminal. I was able to get home at around 5 AM in the morning on May 23.

The 2 day trip is not enough to explore the hidden wonders of Bicol but we were somehow able to maximize our time and been to the places where we really planning to visit (atleast).

Our Calaguas trip was incomparable. O love the serenity of the place and hope that it will stay that way.

Looking forward to see this paradise again soon.

Next stop: Cebu!
